Board of County Commissioners Public Hearings Regarding Amendments to Short-Term Rental Ordinance
Hearings for discussion and consideration of proposed amendments to Ordinance 84 will take place at 5:30 pm on May 30 and June 13, 2023 at the Port of Tillamook Bay Conference Center, 4000 Blimp Boulevard, Tillamook Oregon
Tillamook County is wrapping up conversations to update the rules & regulations for STRs under Ordinance #84. There are two upcoming public hearings on May 30 & June 13 to receive public feedback. Please visit the Community Development website for more information. Currently, a 1% cap over the current STR percentage in Neskowin may be proposed, which would allow approximately 6-7 new STRs in Neskowin. Other proposed changes include lower maximum occupancy limits, parking space size requirements, noise regulations, exterior lighting regulations, meeting of current building codes, annual septic inspections, and replacement of all permits with licenses. A proposed Phase 2 may have the County work with Neskowin to possibly set a percentage cap limit and consider additional growth management tools. The current percentage of STRs in Neskowin is approximately 21%, and 29% of our STRs are in commercial zones. Stay tuned for info from the county about an STR Complaint Hotline coming soon. In the meantime, if you have a concern about an STR please refer to the information on signage for contact info or reach out to Community Development. Tillamook County’s Hello, Neighbor! initiative has information for all neighbors to promote best practices. Also, as a fellow neighbor with an STR permit, I am happy to reach out as a liaison if helpful, or please feel free to reach out with any questions about this process (hillary.gibson@me.com). Wishing everyone a happy summer!
